Self-haulers must obtain approval from the Solid Waste department prior to delivery to our disposal facilities

All commercial facilities that want to self-haul their solid waste to a Hillsborough County disposal facility must obtain approval from the Solid Waste department prior to delivery. Please note that commercial facilities that only have yard waste for disposal do not need to obtain approval.

How to bring trash to our disposal sites

  1. Request a waste profile by e-mailing PUD-specialwaste@hcfl.gov with your contact information and a description of your waste or by calling (813) 272-5680. (Commercial facilities that only have yard waste for disposal do not need to obtain approval.)
  2. Make a payment. Payment must be made at the scale house either by cash or through a solid waste commercial account. Credit cards and checks are not accepted. To set up an account submit a Commercial Account for Payment form
  3. To drop off waste at the disposal facility, commercial customers must go through the scale house. Attendants will take your cash payment or charge your commercial account. For cash customers, a 20% deposit of the gross total loaded vehicle/trailer weight is taken going in and then after unloading, the total amount due is settled upon weighing out at the scale house. To set up a commercial account you must have an approval and must submit a completed Commercial Account for Payment form.
