About Reclaimed Water
|
|
Reclaimed water involves taking wastewater from treatment plants, giving it a high degree of treatment and using the resulting
high quality water for a new beneficial use. Reclaimed water is delivered to homes and businesses through an underground distribution system entirely separate
from the drinking water system.
Extensive treatment and disinfecting ensure that public health and environmental quality are protected. Reclaimed water must meet strict standards
of quality established by the Florida
Department of Environmental Protection. The reclaimed water system is monitored 24 hours a day by county personnel to ensure that consistent water
quality standards are met. Physical contact with reclaimed water is not known to have any negative effects. However, reclaimed water should never be used
for consumption or sanitary purposes.

RECLAIMED WATER SERVICE TO BE INTERRUPTED IN NORTHWEST APRIL 19-21,
2008
Reclaimed water service in a portion of our Northwest Service Area will be interrupted
from 5 p.m. on Saturday, April 19, until 7:30 a.m. on Monday, April 21. The service
interruption will affect residential and commercial customers in the Westchase,
Eagles, Westchester, Mandolin, Westwood Lakes and Fawn Ridge developments, as
well as others in the Citrus Park and Upper Tampa Bay areas. During this time,
it is advisable to reschedule any plans you may have to put down fertilizers,
pesticides or other lawn treatments which require watering after the application.
The service interruption is necessary so that Water Resource Services may
perform routine tests on the wastewater that is discharged by the Northwest
Regional Water Reclamation Facility.
We apologize for this inconvenience, and thank you for your understanding.
