- Solid Waste Collection Service
Hillsborough County provides curbside solid waste collection (garbage, recyclables and yard waste) for single-family homes located in the unincorporated area and including the
Tampa Palms and Hunters Green areas. Temple Terrace and Plant City have their own collection services.
Customers receive two garbage pickups, one collection of recyclables and one collection of yard waste per week. Additional materials, including magazines,
junk mail, plastic bottles, office paper and telephone books, can be recycled. Collection hours are from 6 a.m. until 6 p.m. Curbside service is provided
on either Mondays / Thursdays or Wednesdays / Saturdays, depending on the collection route. There is no collection service on Thanksgiving, Christmas,
New Years, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, or Labor Day. A service charge for collection is regulated by County Commissioners and is paid yearly through
your property tax bill. Call 272-5680 for information.

Yard Waste Processing Facilities
The separation of yard waste from other solid waste is mandatory. Both residential and commercial customers must deliver separated yard waste to one of three (3) Yard Waste Processing Facilities (YWPF).
Yard and wood waste received at the Northwest County Yard Waste Processing Facility (8001 West Linebaugh Avenue), the Falkenburg Yard Waste Processing Facility (350 Falkenburg Road) and the South County Yard Waste Processing Facility (13000 US HWY 41) is size reduced with a tub grinder by a private contractor. The size reduced yard waste is windrowed, and recycled as mulch, soil amendment or fuel by the same private contractor.
The YWPFs are open Monday thru Saturday - 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM.
NOTE: ALL YARD WASTE SITES CLOSE AT 5:00PM TO CUSTOMERS THAT DO NOT HAVE AUTOMATIC UNLOADING VEHICLES.
