Mission Statement |

This office serves as an advocate for the Asian-American community
and coordinates efforts to identify, address and resolve problems. It assists
in protocol matters regarding visits from foreign officials and dignitaries.
The Asian-American Affairs Liaison hosts an annual event as an outreach avenue. This celebration is held in May, bringing together
various Asian cultures with government and the private sector. |

Asia Fest is an annual celebration of "National Asian Pacific American Heritage Month”. It presents a colorful, festive celebration that features cultural entertainment and Asian ethnic food representing 15 countries. Several key local Asian Pacific restaurants are on board as food vendors. Asia Fest is held annually during the same day and time as the International Dragon Boat Race.

AACF will also be teaming up to help promote the Hillsborough County Public Library System with Big Read in Hillsborough. The Big Read in Hillsborough County will focus on The Joy Luck Club with activities taking place throughout May 2010, including appearances by author Amy Tan.
