Specialty Summer Camps

Do your kids love to spend time outdoors or fishing? Maybe your son dreams of becoming a famous actor, or your daughter can’t get enough of skateboarding. Then we have the perfect summer day camps for them. 

In addition to our regular Summer camp program, our Specialty Summer Camps are safe, fun and affordable. Spaces are limited. Registration is required.

All four specialty summer day camps are $120 for a two week session. If your child receives reduced or free lunch, you may qualify for a discount.

Skate Camps

Learn how to ollie. Find out if you prefer the regular or goofy stance. Become a top-notch shredder. We have 4 two week session skate camps at Providence Skate Park and at our Apollo Beach skate park. The sessions are for age groups, 8 – 12. Programs run from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.
 
Our staff will offer beginner skate lessons and go over:
  • Techniques
  • Board control
  • Maneuverability
  • Safety
  • Course etiquette
  • Skateboard fundamentals

Fine Arts Camp

Dive into the world of dance, art, theatre and music at the Fine Arts Camp taking place at Roy Haynes Park. If you are crazy about performing or love to paint, then this is the place to be. This is a four week camp designed for kids 7 – 13 and lunch is included.

Eco-Adventure Camp

Calling all nature lovers! If you can’t wait to explore, investigate and play outdoors, then the Eco-Adventure Camp is the place for you. The camp meets every day at the Upper Tampa Bay Park in the Nature Center at 8 AM, with programming ending around 4PM and camp closing at 6 p.m. There is also one scheduled field trip per two week session. There are two sessions designed for Explorers (9 – 11) and two for Rangers (12 – 15).  Lunch is not included, so campers will need to bring their own.
  • Session 1 (June 4 - June 15) ages 12-15
  • Session 2  (June 18 -  June 29) ages 9-11
  • Session 3 (July 2 - July 13) ages 12-15
  • Session 4 (July 16 - July 27) ages 9-11

Fishing Camp

If your ideal day includes knot tying, casting a net and cleaning fish, we have the perfect summer camp for you. You will spend the day at E.G. Simmons Park learning all the basics of fishing from our staff, as well as some well-known anglers. There are two sessions for the 9 – 11-year-old group and two sessions for those that are 12 - 15.  Lunch is not included, so campers will need to bring their own.
 
Activities and education include:
  • Learning fishing rules and regulations
  • Proper de-hooking and fish release
  • Cleaning fish
  • Tying knots
  • Casting nets
  • Kayaking
  • Crafts
