Hillsborough County to Host Affordable Housing Forum
Hillsborough County's housing market has come roaring back since the Great Recession, but for many, the dream of home ownership - or just a reasonable monthly rent - can still feel out of reach.
Hillsborough County will host an affordable housing forum on Thursday, March 29, to introduce residents to the host of programs, services, and aid available to those in need of decent, affordable housing. Hosted by Hillsborough County Affordable Housing Services, the forum will feature information on homebuyer education, housing repairs assistance, down payment assistance, credit counseling, and affordable housing options.
The forum will feature community partners including Habitat for Humanity, Florida Home Partnership, the Housing & Education Alliance, Tampa Housing Authority, and the Housing Finance Authority. Hillsborough County Affordable Housing Services administers federal and state funding to develop effective affordable housing and community development strategies for low- and moderate-income residents.
The affordable housing forum will be on March 29 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Jackson Springs Recreation Center, 8620 Jackson Springs Road in Tampa.
