Get Free Tax Help

Hillsborough County's IRS-certified volunteers are ready to assist

Don't let tax season get you down. Preparing your 2016 Income Tax return doesn't have to be overwhelming.

IRS-certified volunteers with Hillsborough County's Extension Service can show you a self-guided tax preparation program, and provide one-on-one help.

The free service is available to individuals and families with adjusted gross incomes of no more than $64,000.

The Extension Service, which operates with support and oversight from the University of Florida, has helped more than 300 Hillsborough County residents since 2012. More than 100 residents took advantage of the free assistance in each of the last two years, and appointments now are available on evenings and Saturdays.

Appointments are required, and available:

  • Tuesdays and Thursdays, between 2 p.m. and 7 p.m., from Feb. 7 through April 11
  • On select Saturdays (Feb. 11 and 18; March 4 and 18) between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.

To schedule an appointment, e-mail Denise Kantak at (813) 744-5519, extension 54141.
