Hillsborough County, Fla. (April 20, 2017) - Hillsborough County residents can learn about a project to increase traffic flow and improve safety at the intersection of Lithia Pinecrest Road, Lumsden Road, Durant Road, and Bell Shoals Road in Valrico during a public information meeting on Thursday, May 11. Hosted by Hillsborough County Public Works, the meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m. and will take place in the Bloomingdale High School cafeteria, 1700 E. Bloomingdale Ave. in Valrico.
The meeting will include a brief presentation and have an open-house format, with project displays available for viewing. Attendees can review, ask questions, and comment on the $16.4 million Capital Improvement project, which is scheduled to begin in mid-2017.
The project will retain the current traffic pattern on all the major approaches, but will convert Durant Road to a right in/right out traffic pattern and extend or add traffic separators on Lithia Pinecrest and Lumsden roads. The project will also provide drainage improvements, pedestrian safety features, sidewalks, bicycle lanes, and an upgraded traffic signal system.
Information presented at the meeting will also be available on the Lithia Pinecrest Road and Lumsden Road Intersection project webpage.
