Public Meeting to Address Plan to Repurpose Former Wimauma Fire Station

Hillsborough County, Fla. (April 13, 2018) - Wimauma residents are invited to a public information meeting on Monday, April 23, to learn more about a proposed plan to repurpose the Hillsborough County building that once was the community's fire station.

The meeting will start at 6:30 p.m. in the cafeteria at Reddick Elementary School, 325 West Lake Drive in Wimauma.

Representatives of Catholic Charities will be on hand to present their proposal to lease the building, located at 1120 7th St. in Wimauma, for a health care clinic. The 2,280-square-foot building, constructed in 1981, was vacated in September 2016 when Fire Station No. 22 moved to new quarters nearby.

Residents will have a chance to ask questions at the open house-style meeting, and talk one-on-one with staff from Catholic Charities and the County's Real Estate & Facilities Services.

Additional project information is available at HCFLGov.net/CountyProjects.

Questions about the meeting may be directed to Citizen Engagement at (813) 272-5275. Para información, llamar al (813) 272-5275. For hearing and speech impaired assistance, call 711.
