Public Meeting Set on Plan to Turn Treatment Plant into Park

Hillsborough County, Fla. (April 12, 2017) - Hillsborough County will hold a public meeting on Tuesday, April 18, at the Carrollwood Cultural Center to review plans to replace a soon-to-be decommissioned wastewater treatment plant with a park.

The meeting will be held in an open-house format, and members of the public can ask questions and comment on the park proposal, and on the proposed amenities. A conceptual design will be exhibited at the meeting, and additional project information is available online.

The Dale Mabry Wastewater Treatment Plant covers about 50 acres in Carrollwood Village just west of Dale Mabry Highway and south of West Village Drive. The County is retiring the 40-year-old plant because of increasing operation and maintenance costs; the plant's workload will be transferred to the Northwest Regional Water Reclamation Facility off South Mobley Road.

WHAT: Open house for proposed Carrollwood community park
WHERE: Carrollwood Cultural Center, 4537 Lowell Road in Tampa
WHEN: 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 18
