Pet Resources Investigating Multiple Cat Deaths in Lutz

Hillsborough County, Fla. (Aug. 6, 2017) - On Saturday, Aug. 5, Hillsborough County's Pet Resources responded to an animal welfare call involving a home at 5703 Lakeside Drive in Lutz.

Animal Control officers found more than two dozen deceased cats and kittens and numerous live cats and kittens. Several cats later had to be euthanized for health reasons. More than 50 live cats and kittens seized from the home are in quarantine at the Pet Resource Center where they will continue to be monitored.

The investigation by Animal Control is still active. Once complete, the results of the investigation will be turned over to the State Attorney's Office, which will determine whether criminal charges are warranted.
