Sign up to attend the 15th Annual Neighborhoods Conference. This year's theme is Creating Community. Attend workshops that cover topics from connecting your neighborhood to social media resources and engaging the Hispanic community to tools for neighborhood partnerships and what to know about code enforcement. Our vendors will include local and national businesses, as well as County and various city departments and agencies.

In addition to meeting vendors and attending workshops, the conference also includes the Neighborhood Recognition Awards luncheon, where Hillsborough County recognizes high-achieving neighborhoods and standout community leaders.

(A-1) Emotional Intelligence for Leaders (Part 1)
  • Discover how recognizing your own emotions and those of others can affect your environment and community for the better.
(A-2) Introduction to Local Code Enforcement
  • Discover the ins and outs of local code enforcement and how to best use their services to maintain your community’s quality of life.
(A-3) Engaging With Your Community: Social Media for Neighborhoods
  • Delve into the online world of your community and learn tips and tricks on how to use resources available through Hillsborough County to better connect with your community.
(A-4) I Don't Need A Permit! Do I?
  • Learn to navigate your way through county requirements for permitting, building and more.
(A-5) Hillsborough County At Your Service: Let Us Be Your Guide
  • Find out how to best use Hillsborough County’s At Your Service system and how it can assist you when reporting service concerns within the County 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
(A-6) Board Certification for New Association Directors (2 Hours) (A-6 & B-6)
  • Newly elected/appointed directors can take the two-hour certification course from a division-approved education provider and receive their notice of completion that must be obtained within first 90 days of election/appoint. When signing up for this workshop, you must sign up for both A-6 and B-6.
(A-7) Keeping Children Safe in Your Neighborhood
  • Discover different ways you and your community can help keep children safe and bring awareness to preventable child injuries and deaths in your neighborhood.
(B-1) Emotional Intelligence for Leaders (Part 2)
  • Discover how recognizing your own emotions and those of others can affect your environment and community for the better.
(B-2) Planting the Seeds of Community Engagement - en Español
  • Learn about SEED and how its four principles of self-interest, evidence, effectiveness, and diversity, can help you in building community engagement.
(B-3) Cultivating New Neighborhood Leadership
  • Learn new ways to engage your neighborhood to inspire new leadership relationships and involvement within your community.
(B-4) Consumer Protection and your Neighborhood
  • Find out how Hillsborough County Consumer Protection can assist you and your neighborhood when working with businesses in the community, and how to avoid miscommunications and reach your goal.
(B-5) Why Customer Engagement is Important to Government and its Citizens
  • Learn the ins and outs of Hillsborough County’s public hearings and public meetings process and how to make the most of your participation.

  • Discover how recognizing your own emotions and those of others can affect your environment and community for the better.
(C-2) Conversation with the County Administrator
  • Join in a roundtable discussion with Hillsborough County Administrator Mike Merrill.
(C-3) Can I Park Here? Street Parking and Neighborhoods
  • Learn the secrets of street parking in your neighborhood and the laws that surround towing on public rights-of-way.
(C-4) Diversity & Inclusion in Your Neighborhood
  • Discover the importance of engagement and why it is crucial to your community and its future.
(C-5) Navigation of State Legislature and Tools to Keep You in the Know
  • Develop new skills for reviewing proposed bills from the State Legislature and how to best address concerns within those bills that could affect your community in the future.
