Hurricane effects: A hurricane is not a point; its effects cover a large area. Don't focus
on just the eye or the storm track. Take the following into consideration:
- Winds and rain extend a long distance from the center
- There will be storm surge and higher than normal tides
- There will be coastal flooding and beach erosion.
