The Corporate Business Development section is committed to increasing quality job opportunities for our community's
residents by helping to establish, maintain and project Hillsborough County's business friendly climate to corporations
that create and sustain those desirable
quality jobs.
The Hillsborough County’s Board of County Commissioners demonstrate support for a strong economy and business friendly
environment in Hillsborough County through the efforts of the Economic Development Department. The Economic Development Corporate
Business Development Section’s mission is to help increase the number of quality job opportunities for our community’s
residents. We strive to accomplish this goal by establishing, maintaining and projecting Hillsborough County’s business
friendly climate to corporations that create and sustain those desirable quality jobs.
Specifically, the Corporate Business Development Section assists existing and prospective large businesses with job creating
expansions and relocations. The economic development assistance provided to job creators (businesses) includes activities
in several areas: permitting issues, coordinating state and local financial incentives (linked directly to creation of at
least 25 jobs with wages exceeding 115% of the County's average wage), general information and support.
In late 2004, the Board of County Commissioners approved the Target Area Reinvestment
Partnership (TARP) Pilot Program, which
encourages reinvestment towards existing commercial buildings within target areas in Hillsborough County. |
