Renée Lee became the County Attorney for Hillsborough County in August of 2004. She has practiced law throughout Florida for more than 25 years, including experience in local government law. She worked in Duval, Broward and Sarasota counties, and also in Charlotte County as County Attorney. She has also practiced insurance and personal injury law as in-house counsel with several insurance companies. She received her bachelor degree from Fisk University and her juris doctorate from the University of Florida.

Active in numerous civic and professional organizations, Renée Lee is a member of The Florida Bar Association, The American Bar Association and the National Bar Association. She is also a charter member of the Board of Trustees for Florida Gulf Coast University and served as president of the Florida Association of County Attorneys.

Renée Lee is married and has two children.
