James Sudberry serves as the
Administrator of the Consumer Protection and Professional Responsibility Agency. Mr. Sudberry previously served as a Federal Criminal Investigator and
supervisor. He has also instructed at State law enforcement academies and the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center and is a nationally recognized speaker
on multi-agency operational task forces and the integration of law enforcement missions into non-traditional channels. Mr. Sudberry is a graduate of Michigan
State University.
The Consumer Protection Agency's mission is to enforce consumer protection laws through investigation and mediation, conduct consumer education
programs, issue citations for violations of the Consumer Protection Ordinance, and present criminal cases to the State Attorney for review and/or prosecution.
The Professional Responsibility Section's mission is to investigate allegations of employee misconduct that is unethical, criminal or discriminatory in
nature, including alleged violations of Hillsborough County's Code of Ethics, Hillsborough County's policies prohibiting discrimination and harassment,
Section 112.3187 of the Florida State Statutes, as well as other local, state and federal laws by employees under the County Administrator.
