Hillsborough County's Public Works Department is closing its Right-of-Way Management Office in the NetPark Business Park today, Friday, Nov. 6, and re-opening in County Center in downtown Tampa, starting on Monday, Nov. 9. The move is a cost-saving measure as a result of budget cuts which will consolidate office space and reduce rent payments.
The Right-of-Way Management Office will be located on the 22nd Floor of the County Center, 601 E. Kennedy Blvd. in Tampa. Contractors and residents will be able to request permits at this location by going to the front desk on this floor. The phone number will remain the same for the Right-of-Way Management Office (813) 274-6500.
Public parking is available across the street from County Center in the pink-colored Pierce Street parking garage. Parking is free in the garage for the first 30 minutes, and is 80 cents thereafter for every additional 30 minutes.
The County's Right-of-Way Management Office manages the permitting process for work in the right-of-way along roads in the unincorporated County. It also conducts field inspections and the restoration of the rights of way when they are damaged. In addition, it manages the Temporary Traffic Control permitting process and performs inspections whenever a lane closure, road closure or special event is requested within the County.
Information on the Right-of-Way Management Office, the Utility Accommodation Guide, permit applications, fee schedules and instructions for requesting a permit also are available on the Countys website at: www.hillsboroughcounty.org/publicworks/transmaintenance/.
