Since coming to the Hillsborough County Public Affairs in 1995, Edith Stewart has represented the County Administration before the State and Federal Governments and their agencies and has worked on numerous issues with locally elected officials from the three cities and the School Board.
Communicating Hillsborough County’s message to its citizens is managed through our Communications Department which includes Public Information Media Relations, Hillsborough Television (HTV), Language Services, Web Services, Citizen Board support, and Print Services. This team promotes and reports county services, program and projects.
Intergovernmental Relations supports State and Federal legislative issues and grants, both internally and externally. Serves as staff to the Board of County Commissioners Citizens Advisory Committee (CAC), the Hillsborough County Council of Governments (COG), the Hillsborough County Commission on the Status of Women (CSW), the Florida Association of Counties (FAC), the National Association of Counties (NACo), and the Hillsborough County Hospital Authority.
The Citizen Action Center provides a countywide call center which operates seven days a week to respond to citizen requests for information, services and complaints.
The Office of Neighborhood Relations works with neighborhood associations, community groups, and other organizations to build partnerships that improve, enhance and preserve the quality of life in Hillsborough County neighborhoods.
The Public Information Administrator’s office deals with issues that touch the lives of citizens and their government on a daily basis.
